Hybrid Repair

Hybrid Batteries

The most critical part to a hybrid vehicle is the Hybrid Battery Pack, which provides power to the electric motor. Usually, these batteries can last between 100k and if lucky 200k miles. As hybrid batteries degrade, indications are decreased fuel efficiency, poor performance, and warning lights on the dash. Reach out to CMS by phone/text to solve your hybrid battery issues!

Hybrid Battery, A/C, Engine Leak, + More!

Is the hybrid a/c and cooling system different from gas powered?

Yes! Hybrid vehicles require hybrid a/c freon and specified coolant. A/C compressors are electric, which require a special oil to prevent a short circuit. Hybrid inverter coolant should be used appropriately to maintain correct temperature for the inverter, power electronics, and hybrid battery.

Is your hybrid vehicle leaking oil?

Because hybrids switch between electric and gasoline power, engine components may develop oil seal leaks and/or valve cover gasket leaks. Symptoms may be a burning oil smell or visible oil spot in driveway. Engine oil light or oil level warning on hybrid vehicles may turn on. Be sure to have CMS diagnose your hybrid oil leak to ease your worries!

Why do struts, control arms, etc. wear faster on hybrid vehicles?

Hybrid vehicles are heavier than gas-powered cars due to the hybrid battery. This causes extra strain on steering, suspension system, and control arms. Common indications of worn struts is a excessive bouncing, poor handling, and tire wear. Uneven wear can also come from bad control arms, which tend to create a creaking or clunking noise. Set an appointment with CMS for any suspension repair!
